We had our first helicopter evacuation this morning. An Israeli woman became sick after hiking up here a couple days ago. She actually worsened with treatment and had some very strange neurological problems. The A star pulled in and took her to a clinic in Kathmandu, where hopefully she will improve. It was exciting and fairly difficult to arrange it all.
Martin and I are doing well. The locals are in need of alot of care.
We did see some leeches on the way up but were able to get them off before they attached. The only thing I got from the anti-leech oil was an icky rash.
Good luck to mom and dad moving today!
Ride hard Dara!
The connection here is quite slow, and are working on getting some photos up soon.

Glad you are doing well! The hikers and locals are so lucky to have you there. Would love to know more about the locals when you have a minute.
ReplyDeleteWe had our first frost last night and it is finally cooling, leaves are turning colors.
Alice is going on a field trip to the Apple Orchard today, and she will play her first piano concert on Oct. 9.
I am busy teaching kids to read, and working on our new reading grant program. Be Happy!

I'm enjoying Nova Scotia. Today we went down the Cabot Trail. The leaves and the Atlantic Ocean views were spectaular. It may be a place for you to explore on a bike.
